A photo from one of my favorite assignments at the Bellingham Herald. I was given the direction: Go to Point Roberts, WA (an exclave of the U.S. that you have to drive through Canada to get to!), and photograph nature. Um, yes. Thanks to Russ Kendall for the assignment. ;) Here is a favorite photo from that day… a rainbow appears over Boundary Bay while on a short nature hike in the Lily Point Marine Preserve.
Chuckanut Drive along the coast of Bellingham, Washington is one of my favorite roads in the world. Lush green forests on one side, and on the other… the blue, blue water. I can’t wait to return someday.
I am so excited to share that I was accepted as an artist at the Art in the Park event in Columbia, MO this summer! The festival runs June 6th and 7th, and I’ll have a booth with tons of fine art photography prints, mostly focusing on my floral intimacy series, but some fun macro feather and succulent stuff too. I’m going to have a variety of photos for sale from 11×14 to 30×40; from canvas prints to simple mounted photos with mats, as well as framed things… there will be lots of choices!
It’s been a ton of preparation work, but I’m beyond excited to be there. I’ll share more from the festival via my Instagram account, but please, if you’re around town and looking for something to do that weekend, stop by and say hello! And if you can’t attend Art in the Park, but are interested in adorning any of your walls with a colorful bit of my vision, prints will be for sale over on my fine art website!
Here’s a quick photo after putting the matted 11×14 prints into bags! Excuse the sad baby on the couch… he’s sharing in my overwhelming prep work!
As promised, here are a few more favorites from my baby / family portrait photo session with Charlie, Sebastian, Finn and Oliver at home in Columbia, MO. I love all of these kiddos so much, we are sure going to miss hearing Finn and Oli across the street when they move soon!
(above) Neighborhood watch doesn’t have anything on these two hooligans!

(above) I’m pretty sure if wedding photography doesn’t pan out, these two could have a fairly lucrative hip hop career down the road.
Max shot a few impromptu artistic maternity photos at our home in Columbia, MO of me, 40 weeks (and two days!) pregnant this morning… here is a favorite. I really wanted a photo of me with the colorful modern quilt that my insanely talented mom made for us last year… want to see more of her gorgeous works of art?
